Magic links are single-use and expire after a short time. Here are the most common fixes:

  1. 1.Request a fresh link. Go back to the sign-in page, enter your email, and use the new link immediately — don't let it sit in your inbox.
  2. 2.Click from the same device. Open the email and click the link on the same device and browser you normally use. Forwarding the email or switching devices can cause the link to fail.
  3. 3.Try an incognito window. Open a private/incognito window in your browser, paste in the link, and try again. This rules out a browser extension or cached session causing the issue.
  4. 4.Clear cookies for this site. In your browser settings, clear cookies and site data for this domain, then request a new link.
  5. 5.Check your email security software. Some corporate or council email systems automatically follow links in emails, which can use up the magic link before you click it. If this keeps happening, let us know and we can look at alternatives.
